And last but not least (for now) we’ve implemented a (vConnect) data connector for Coops en Nieborg between vEssentials (Microsoft SharePoint based) and their Afas environment. Think of (new) projects, purchase orders, etc. that are automatically being updated in Afas (and vice versa).

This makes it possible to eliminate (boring) administrative, repetitive tasks and is less error prone. Many settings are implicitly defined in the code, which makes it possible to achieve extensive automation with less financial knowledge needed.

Afas is a wonderful example of empowering software developers, they themselves are very strong in their profession and leave the writing of connectors and connecting software to the market. For that they have a well described REST based API (which we gratefully use).
