It doesn’t get any easier than this, for FS Staalbewerking B.V. we put a lightweight app called Taskler as frontend on top of Excel as backend (best of both worlds!). In the app for example, the operator can mark plates as received, see which plates must be cut first (planning), enter batch numbers and indicate that the plates have been cut.

If you can steer an organization on an infrastructure this flat, you are doing something very good and at the same time remain very flexible!
